Not fully sure why they say MythTV is needed since it’s just using basic commands (unless I’m missing something here), but I’m totally going to do this for the next baby.

Not listening to the audio, perhaps Myth is there so it can also play DVR-recorded movies for the baby, like, you, know, Terminator and stuff. (Note major lack of baby experience).
